What is the Scan ERP app?
It's the operator-facing side of Scan ERP, our complete garment factory automation platform. Where supervisors and admins use the desktop dashboard, operators use this PWA on their personal Android phone to scan QR bundles and see their earnings in real time.
Important disambiguation: If you searched "scan erp app" and found ScanERP - Smart POS System on Google Play or Apple App Store — that is a different unrelated product (retail point-of-sale barcode scanner). Our Scan ERP is purpose-built garment factory automation, not retail POS.
How operators install the Scan ERP app (3 steps)
Open scanerp.pro in Chrome
Operator uses their own phone — any $50+ Android. iOS Safari also works. No download from Play Store needed.
Tap "Add to home screen"
From the browser menu. Scan ERP icon appears on the home screen, opens full-screen like a native app, gets auto-updates.
Log in with supervisor-issued PIN
4-digit PIN, no email required. Operator is ready to scan bundles in under 60 seconds. Works for illiterate operators — PIN-only login.
What the operator app does
QR bundle scanning
Camera reads bundle QR code — 3-decoder engine (jsQR + native BarcodeDetector + ZXing) for 95-99% accuracy even on cracked or dirty screens.
Operation assignment
Shows current operation, machine type, expected SAM time, color of bundle — visual cards, no forms.
Live earnings display
Auto-calculates piece-rate pay with skill multiplier, machine bonus, quality penalty — updates after every scan complete.
Daily target progress
Visual progress bar shows pieces/hour vs target — operator sees if they're on pace, falling behind, or hitting bonus tier.
Supervisor notifications
WhatsApp-style alerts from supervisor — reassignment, quality feedback, end-of-shift summary.
Monthly earnings sheet
Operator can see this month's earnings, advances taken, deductions, net payable — before payday. Reduces payment disputes.
Why a PWA, not a Play Store app?
We deliberately chose Progressive Web App over native iOS/Android apps. Six reasons:
- 1-tap install — no Play Store account, no app permission prompts, no 50MB download over factory WiFi
- No 30% platform fees — Google and Apple take 30% on in-app purchases; we'd have to add that to factory subscription prices
- Instant updates — new features ship to all operators in seconds, no "please update your app" nag screens
- Single codebase — same PWA works on Android, iOS, Windows tablets, Chromebooks — one codebase to maintain means faster bug fixes
- Works on cheap phones — the PWA RAM footprint (~80MB) is half what a typical native Android app uses
- No Play Store review delays — a critical bug fix ships in 5 minutes, not 3-5 days
The trade-off: no Play Store/App Store presence. Some buyers expect to find apps in the store. The disambiguation copy at the top of this page exists for that reason — to make it clear what the Scan ERP "app" actually is and how to install it.
vs. Other Garment Factory Operator Apps
How Scan ERP's PWA approach compares to dedicated-scanner and RFID-based alternatives used in major garment factory ERPs.
Scan ERP's PWA approach: zero per-operator cost, zero scanner hardware, operators use phones they already own. Trade-off: no Play Store presence (some buyers expect that). See the PROTRACKER vs Scan ERP comparison for the full-system breakdown.
Common questions about the Scan ERP app
Is Scan ERP on Google Play Store?
No. The app is a Progressive Web App (PWA) installed directly from scanerp.pro. The "ScanERP - Smart POS" on Google Play is a different unrelated retail POS product. See disambiguation section.
Is Scan ERP on Apple App Store?
No. Same reason as above. iOS users install the PWA from Safari by tapping the share menu, then "Add to home screen". The app icon appears on the iOS home screen and opens full-screen like a native app.
Does the operator app work offline?
Partially — it's WiFi-resilient via Raspberry Pi LAN cache on factory premises. Brief WiFi drops are absorbed transparently. Long WAN outages still require internet for full cloud sync. Operator phones on cellular data outside the factory do not have Pi cache access.
What if my operators are illiterate?
Visual-first design: QR scanning replaces forms, work cards use icons + machine images, earnings show as large numbers, voice PA announcements in local language augment the UI. First-generation factory workers are typically productive within their first hour.
How much does the operator app cost?
Free. Included with every Scan ERP factory subscription. Pricing is per-factory: $5/machine/month OR $0.001/piece tracked, whichever is lower. Unlimited operators — no per-user fees. See pricing details.
Will it work on my factory's existing operator phones?
Yes, in most cases. The PWA is optimized for Android 8+ with 2GB RAM (typical Bangladesh / India / Vietnam first-time-buyer phones). Cracked screens, dirty cameras, fingerprints — all tested in real factory conditions. 95-99% scan accuracy on $50 phones.
